Annual conference of the American Alliance of Theatre and Education 2011
More than 400 theatre artists and educators from across the country will gather in downtown Chicago and Evanston for AATE's national conference to learn, share, and celebrate the work in the field of theatre and education. Programming includes the keynote performance of the long-awaited finale of Suzan Zeder's award-winning trilogy, The Edge of Peace (commissioned by Seattle Children's Theatre) and AATE's Annual Award Ceremony celebrating exemplary theatre arts for young people in this country and beyond.
AATE’s national conference is a unique opportunity for artists, scholars, and educators who work with young people in a variety of settings (classrooms, theatres, communities) to gather with individuals who have different areas of expertise—and learn from each other. AATE’s diverse membership is living proof that the dialogue between theatre and education is everchanging to meet the needs of the young people today.
