Beauty and Education – Why beauty matters to the cognitive, emotional and creative development of young people

內容Content

Beauty is hardly ever considered as something that might matter in education. It is associated with pleasure, with vanity, with the body and not with learning, moral development or cognitive activity. This talk will suggest that this common sense perspective is misguided and will make the case for beauty to be taken seriously as a powerfully motivating force, one that can bring passion into young people’s learning and direction and a sense of hope into their lives.
